THE SOVIET-AMERICAN CONFERENCE ON COSMOCHEMISTRY OF THE MOON AND PLANETS IN TWO VOLUMES
Washington, DC: NASA, 1977. First edition. 929 pages. Charts, graphs and illustrations. NASA SP-370.
The joint Soviet-American Conference on Cosmochemistry of the Moon and Planets was held in Moscow, June 4-8, 1974. The formal papers of the conference should stand for many years as one of the best consolidated treatises on the state of our knowledge of planetology and cosmochemistry.
Papers at the conference were presented in these sessions:
- Differentiation of the material of the Moon and planets
- The thermal history of the Moon
- Lunar gravitation and magnetism
- Chronology of the Moon, planets and meteorites
- The role of exogenic factors in the formation of the lunar surface
- Cosmochemical hypotheses about the origin and evolution of the Moon and planets
- New data about the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter
Very Good with No dust jackets, as issued. Lower corners of part one badly bumped. Spine lettering slightly faded. Light soil. Note: this is a heavy set, so shipping charges will be high for overseas customers.
